Get Sticky with Gluekit

Here’s an illo we did for New York way back in November, for an article by S.Jhonna Robledo about how the upsurge in condo purchases in some areas of the Big Apple are destroying the same good public schools that attracted the condo-buying crowds. The inspiration for the illustration honestly came within two seconds of getting the assignment– images from Virginia Lee Burton’s children’s book The Little House flashed, banged, and off we went.

The piece was art directed by the super talented (and awfully nice) Kate Elazegui, who is now the Design Director at Radar Magazine. Gluekit has enjoyed working with Kate, and we wish her all the best in her new position.

Gluekit likes being nostalgic about our childhood reading!

well, the awfully nice Kate Elazegui thinks gluekit is equally as awfully nice and perhaps even MORE talented. cant say enough good things about a smart, dedicated, superhip, and perhaps even more importantly…a really fast illustrator. your work rocks solid, man.
